HCA Auction ...Nationals.

Again, I think it is SO important we support the National this year, considering all of the current events. One big way HCA raises money is through the live auction. If you have anything you can donate, small or large... it would help.

It could be a nice gift bag...it could be a car...

If it is expensive shoes or handbags... send them to me... I will inspect them and get them to the right people...hehe...

And don't just think on dog terms... I think someone gave a week at a vacation house one time, and some nice artwork....

How do you donate you ask...well I have no idea... I should have found out before starting this. I will research that..

Years ago, this was my very first volunteer job within the HCA and I got to know several other members and had a great time working with the team who were collecting auction donations. We need items not only for the live auction, but also for the silent auction and raffle. You can see some of the items that have already been donated here http://www.havanese.org/2007%20HCA%2.../07Auction.htm , but this year's goal is to have 100 items.

To volunteer, contact Kelly Chafee who is this year's HCA Specialty Auction chair at [email protected]

If you would like to donate an item, send it to:
Leslie Olsen
4624 West Oberlin Place
Denver CO 80236-3201

- Finally, attending the specialty itself is a lot of fun and a great way to learn more about the breed. You'll see more Havanese gathered in one place than you can imagine <g>. More info is online at http://www.havanese.org/2007%20HCA%2...ty/07index.htm but it is being held in Denver this year from Aug 14-19. The auction will happen on Friday night, 8/17. The main conformation show is 8/17 and 8/18, with all sorts of other events leading up to it. We will have obedience, rally, lots of seminars, health testing for your Havanese, etc.

Cherie

And I forgot about the quilt. They are selling tickets for three different quilts I believe. One is for HRI rescue, one for HCA and one for Canada. I could be wrong on that...

Ill post more info on that later.

In addition, if you are going to attend the National, it's a blast to go check out all the items for the raffle & the auction.

Our new president modeled one a Hungarian (?) lace scarf last year. I wonder what he'll do this year... Oh, yes, there are events you can attend for a fee, but the entertainment is free!

If you are interested in any specific information about the National Specialty, the Premium List is now available online too. 2007 Havanese National Specialty in Denver, CO Premium List

I look forward to seeing many of you there.

Melissa,
Do you know if the T-shirt or a sweatshirt is available to order from the National? It is beautiful art work and even though I won't be able to go,I was curious if we could order one and support the HCA through the purchase.
Thanks.
