That's a start! (BTW, friends don't let friends drink Corona!)

Now just substitute a word for cerveza and you are on your way!

mas tacos por favor (more tacos please)
mas perritos por favor (more little dogs please)
mas sol por favor (more sun please)
mas sombra por favor (more shade please)
mas vacaciones en Mexico por favor (more vacations in Mexico please)

Easy peasy!

Popi we should hire you as our Spanish teacher. That is a great way to add words to our vocabulary.

The popular wisdom among Mexicans around here is: One Corona, Two Corona, Three Corona Floor! Real Mexicans in these parts drink Pacifico.

Ok! I get. My brother told me once that someone pees in the Corona before bottling, but I don't believe that!

I haven't tried Pacifico. Next time I see it on sale I buy some. I also like Modelo.

That is gross and absolutely not true! Actually a horse pees in the Corona before bottling!

Modelo is good.

You can't purchase this in the USA, but every Christmas a special beer is brewed in Mexico called "Noche Buena" (Christmas Eve). It is only available for about a month and oh my goodness is it good! I have to buy it when I see it because it sells out fast to the Mexicans and knowledgeable Gringos.

This is all part of the fun of living in Mexico! Just got back from a champagne, lobster, prime rib, buffet brunch with friends from White Rock just south of Vancouver. Three and a half hours of non-stop laughter. Oh My Dog we love Mexico and our friends here!

I'm approaching retirement and have been daydreaming about going to warmer climates for a spell each winter. I lived in Germany 7 years, and would love to spend my winters there. Yes, I know it's not warm, but it's better than Minnesota!

The hardest factor to deal with is, of course, Sheldon. Where I go, my little boy goes! When you fly to/from Mexico, is do you take Ricky in the cabin with you?

I have been starting to investigate domestic (drivable!) options for a winter stay. I've downloaded the Airb&b app; you can filter on places that accept pets. Charleston, Austin, Tuscan here we come.

It is a two day drive from our California home to our Mexico home. Ricky has never been on a plane, but we do have his Sherpa carrier handy in case we do need to fly with him someplace. NEVER, NEVER, NEVER send your dog as air cargo in a crate in the belly of the plane. Too many things can and do go wrong (my daughter is former Director of Air Cargo Operations for a major airline and she would never ship her dog on a plane as cargo).

A few mornings ago we met Alex walking her three dogs - a Lab, mini-Aussie, and Sheltie. She said was from San Francisco area. I asked how she got all three dogs down to Mexico on the plane. She said, "oh we just charter a private jet." That's what I call, loving your dogs!

Mexico does not have any quarantine period for dogs. However you must have a current Health Certificate when entering Mexico and returning to the US. I would check the quarantine requirements in Germany very carefully before taking a dog anywhere in Europe.

I'd never send a dog in the cargo hold! I have flown with my puppy under the seat - that's stressful enough. Think I'm destined for warmer climes that are drivable.
