Smile An Update

Immy is doing great! She is our 7 lb bundle of joy! She is smart, playful, and smiley. She loves to go for long walks and play ball. She is very photogenic and Brian and I love featuring her on all of our holiday cards. The picture of her in the dress above was from Thanksgiving. She loves to watch anything animated on tv. She'll perch herself right in front and study the show closely. She does not like certain characters especially peter griffin from family guy and will bark whenever she sees them. She makes this adorable puzzled scoobie doo sound while watching also. She's well mannered and knows how to sit, stay, dance, kneel, and rollover. She still needs a little more obedience training. She tends to pull the leash during her walks, is an avid shoe chewer, and loves stealing laundry from the hamper. We are considering finding a trainer to help us work out these issues. I enjoy sewing and one of my first projects was the dog bed seen in the picture. I was measuring and cutting the fabric on the floor when Immy came over and sat right on it and gave me a huge smile. I like to tell people she enjoys "helping" me sew. I ended up letting her choose the quilted top layout by seeing which one she laid down on. She loves to use her pillow as a mattress or as a pillow just for her head depending on her mood. It's her first birthday on Tuesday! Brian and I are super excited and trying to figure out what to get her! I'm thinking of baking her some dog treat cookies. Does anyone have a good recipe??? Also we need to pick her up some dog food any suggestions for a good adult food? Salmon hurts her tummy so have to avoid any foods that contain it, but we are finding that a lot of the grain free foods have salmon in them. We would be open to a grain food if necessary.

Oh, Immy is a Doll! love the one of her sleeping with her head on the pillow/bed.

Are you willing to do Raw or maybe cook for her? it may be a great choice and she really doesn't need any grains at all.

She's such a gorgeous little girl. You must be over the moon with her.

She is so cute! What great pics. My dogs love these and I made them for several friends dogs at Christmas and they all loved them...but they have rice so I don't know if you can use it or not but here it is...and 3 dogs share 1/2 a they don't get alot all at once....

1 pack (1/4 oz) ACTIVE DRY YEAST
1/4 cup warm water
1 tsp beef bouillion granules
2 TBSP boiling water
2 1/2 cups all purpose flour
1 cup nonfat dry milk powder
1 cup whole wheat flour
1 cup cooked long grain rice
1 envelope unflavored gelatin
1 jar (4 oz) vegetable beef dinner baby food
1 egg
2 TBSP vegetable oil
In small bowl dissolve yeast in warm another bowl dissolve bouillion in boiling water. In lg bowl combine flour, milk powder, wheat flour, rice and gelatin. Sitr in baby food, egg, oil, yeast mixture and bouillion mixture until combined; knead until mixture forms a ball
Turn onto lightly floured surface;roll to 1/4 inch thickness. cut witha floured 2 in bone shaped cookie cutter. place 1 in apart on ungreased cookie shet. bake at 350 for 25-30 minutes or until set. Remove to wire racks to cool. Let stand 24 hours or until hardened. Store in airtight container
