The Importance of Responsibly Sourced Ingredients in Pet Food

The ingredients found in your petís dog food are essential to his health and wellness. Hereís why you should look for responsibly sourced ingredients.

You already know that feeding your dog or cat a high quality food is essential. Thatís why you check labels for whole food ingredients (no byproducts for your best friend!).

But did you know that how your petís food was raised and grown plays an equally important role when it comes to health and wellness, and that responsibly sourced ingredients could boost the quality of your furry friendís food as well?

We started V-dog food just three months ago + its been amazing! Super low-impact and we dont have t worry about the animal ingredients because there arent any!
Mango's coat is shinier, he has more energy, he loves it. And even the vet approves!!

The Dog Food Project - Vegetarian and Vegan Dog Foods

Should You Allow Your Dog to Eat Vegan Foods?

Diana Laverdure-Dunetz
" Dogs need lots of “high-quality” proteins to thrive. High quality proteins supply the correct level and composition of essential amino acids in forms that are highly digestible and absorbable. Unlike people, who are efficient at processing amino acids from plant-based sources, a dog’s digestive system is “built” to break down and assimilate animal-based proteins. Therefore, animal-based sources offer the highest quality proteins dogs need. That’s why I do not personally recommend plant-based diets for dogs. If a vegetarian or vegan diet is provided, it should be purchased from a reputable commercial manufacturer or formulated by a qualified nutritionist to ensure it is properly balanced."

We were very deliberate and careful before choosing V-dog. We spoke to numerous vets with different ingredients/nutrient lists and settled for the best out there. It has the correct supplements, high in protein + overall well reviewed and tested. For someone who has tried many doggy diets- from raw to homemade to high quality organic brands, this food was the only I found that had everything + made our Mango's allergies subside! It is a new kinda thing, I get most believe meat protein is the way to go + I felt the same way! But then I tested v-dog at home and bam, we're forever hooked. I guess to me it was well worth looking for alternatives, and the best part is while the human population is growing and demanding meat, my little guys dont need it!
