An old dog crosses over the rainbow bridge

My aunt lost her miniature dachsund, Snoopy, last night. She was 20 years and 3 months old. Not too many dogs make it to 20. She did very well up until the end...she had arthritis and cataracts, but otherwise she was in great shape. She did not have a particularly healthy lifestyle. My aunt just fed her Purina dog food and table scraps. She did not get alot of exercise. I guess with dogs like people, your genetics plays a very big part in your longevity.

Your aunt must be devastated. So sorry to hear about her loss.

20 years old! And she didn't have a healthy lifestyle?

Wow-that doxie lived a very long life! She must have been showered with love.
I can imagine it's really tough to lose a friend who has been with you for so long.

I'm so sorry for her loss. As with the people we love, it never matters how long they live. It's not quite long enough. God bless Snoopy as she finds her old friends at the Rainbow Bridge.

So sorry for your aunt's loss. I don't think that I've heard of a dog that has lived that long! I'm sure your aunt feels like she lost a member of her family. God bless her.

A know your Aunt is upset, but 20 years is a great tribute to the love and care she gave her dog.

(PS my dogs would be on Purina Pro Plan if Smarty did not have grain allergies)
