Christmas Tree-Table Topper or Floor?

I've always had a Christmas tree in a floor stand but I'm pretty sure this will not work this year. Willow will have her first Christmas with us this year, and she has a knack of getting into things. So it's going to be a table topper for us. I'm pretty sure a tree standing on the floor would end up horizontal. What do the rest of you do about putting up a Christmas tree?

For Molly's first Christmas last year I did a small tree up on a table. I am going to put up a larger tree on the floor this year and hope for the best!

Last year Max and Molly were about 6 months old. They never messed with our family tree at all, but the little tree in my daughter's room was another story. We just put it back up a few times and finally they left it alone. I wonder which of these two cuties was the guilty one? Neither would tell. Santa almost put them on the "naughty" list, but who can resist sparkly balls and ribbon..?!?

Last year Oliver was 9 months old at xmas, so we put a smaller tree on a table. I think I am going to do the same this year only because we won't be having all the family together like we usually do.

For Kodi's first Christmas, we put an ex-pen around the tree. We'll probably do the same this year for Pixel, though she'll be a bit older for her first Christmas than Kodi was.

For me it wasn't so much a tree issue as Ollie ripping open the presents.

I love Christmas and having a big tree. We haven't had a tree in three years! First Scout was a puppy and then Truffles came along. Hoping to have a tree this year. I always love having a fresh tree, but I am leaning toward a artifical tree with unbreakable ornaments. I can just picture them knocking over a tree and having water everywhere!
