Ok, I'm offended!

I just returned from the local humane society where I went to get Tori's license. Can you believe they've listed her as "Breed: unknown"? All because Havanese isn't one of the categories listed in their computer! I told them they definitely need an update. It's been over 3 years since they did this with Shadow, too.

So, besides being miffed at their antiquated files/system, I was also very teary eyed as I left. It was so sad seeing all the animals they have there (this place, unfortunately, is a kill shelter ) My heart just breaks knowing that most of those babies will probably not get another chance

On the positive side, neezers may still be a best kept secret.
The pound, on the other hand, must be absolutely heartbreaking.

Geez so much for helping to identify her with her license number!

Leslie- I went to the east LA one to do an id check for HRI and it was the sadest thing. I couldn't believe how many dogs there were

Thinking of adding a Neezer, check out this thread!

Leslie, that had to be heartbreaking. Thank heavens for all the rescue folks out there.

Sorry about Tori being an unknown breed. Thank goodness we do not have to go to one for our tags.

The shelters are so heart breaking. As small an area as I live in they can not keep all of the animals, the numbers would be in the thousands before long.

The shelters are heart breaking. It used to make me very sad me to see the neon blinking signs on pet shops around LI annoucing "Puppies are in".

Best, Poornima

I sympathize with you! Our local shelter is also a kill shelter and that's where I have to go for my tags too. Both boys are listed as Lhasa Apso's because that was as close as I figured I could get.

Hope their microchip scanner isn't as outdated as they are!
We have a no kill shelter that tries to take in the ones that aren't going to get homes quickly. Wish all places had that. Sending hugs
