Snails?!?

Raffy keeps capturing small snails, caterpillars, spiders and other small critters that live in our yard. He then brings them in and plays with them. As far as I know he hasn't eaten any because I try to be really watchful and have managed to take them away from him.

My concern is what happens if I don't catch him with one of these and he does ingest some or all of one. Should I be concerned? I want to allow him somewhat free reign in the portion of yard we have fenced off for our dogs, and I can't eliminate the critters. He really loves being outdoors when it's not raining, and while I'm very good about keeping an eye on him, I can't keep my eyes glued every minute.

I don't think Raffy will get sick if he ate any insect.
Most dogs out here eat bugs at some point and I've never heard of any getting sick. Not unless he has an allergy or is already sick.
