Why doesn't every dog where one of these?

Hi all,
I have been lurking a while, and after a lot of research, my family chose to get a beautiful 2 year old male. We love him already, but he has shown the ability to be quite adventurous which has me a bit worried.
I am leaning towards getting one of these little devices for him For Immediate Release: New Technology, Trackr, Gives Pet Owners a Backup Plan | News Daily Now . That little device is about the size of a small coin so it doesn't seem like it should bother him. As a pet owner, I can't see why it wouldn't be a good idea to use one.

Does anyone think wearing one could cause any problems?

-thanks in advance for your response!

I can't see any problem with a dog wearing one, except that if you keep your dog in long coat, you probably won't want a collar on them constantly, because it will mat them.

OTOH, I don't think I'd bother for my own dogs. I have a securely fenced back yard, and they have both been taught to "wait" at the door, and not go through it without permission. The older one has an excellent recall, and the younger one is "in training" to have the same. She is only off leash when she has "big brother" to lead her back to me during recall practice in the open. If I'm the LEAST bit worried about her coming back, she wears a long line that I can step on.

So, I guess I'm just not very worried about losing them.
