Rainy Weather

When it's rainy or really cloudy outside all Sassy wants to do is lay around or sleep. I try to get her interested in playing which she'll do for about two minutes then just lie down or run under the bed because she's done playing. We've had rainy/cloudy weather for the past two days with the same predicted for tomorrow.

Is your Hav babies the same way? If they are how do you get them to move around?

Thanks for any info. I feel like she needs to be active even when it's raining.

It hasn't really rained here the last three years. Last week it did rain one day and Scout and Truffles didn't want to go outside. I think it was the first time Truffles had ever seen rain. Now it is pretty cold and they aren't that excited to go outside. I've got the raincoats ready to go this year! Fingers crossed.

I play tug and let Teddy chase one of those long handle sheep skin dusters around the house when we can't go outside.

Chasing the duster keeps him active and he gets very excited when he see's it! Its the only game that we can play until I get tired and decide to stop.

Teddy also sleeps a lot more when its cold so its probably ok to let Sassy sleep in if she wants.

Today has been sunny and Sassy has been up wanting to play. She brings her toys over and wants to play either tug or fetch. Yesterday I'd go over to her and she just wasn't interested in playing anything. Guess she is a lazy bones when it's rainy. Like a lot of humans who want to just curl up on the couch and read.

I recommend you make an effort to take Sassy outside in the rain and not let your own reluctance influence her. If she's not used to it then practice (and special treats) may make her more comfortable with the rain. Good luck!

She'll go outside in the rain when she needs to potty. But she's not active when it's rainy or cloudy, she doesn't want to play. I'll get her toy, she'll fetch it a couple of times then it's back for a nap. It's like she wants to stay in her "den" when the weather is dreary.

Scout & Truffles are gorgeous. Another precious characteristic of a Havy is sleeping on stacked pillows, the higher the better!
