Stupid Question.. But!

Hi everyone? I know I am just a kid learning about his future havanese, but If I dont want my havanese to have a long silky coat would it be considered a shavanese? I would want its coat to look like this:

That is a standard Havanese in a puppy coat i.e. lots of trips to the groomer or you learning to groom it yourself.
A Shavanese is a short coated Havanese which is a recessive trait which looks like this. Shavanese do shed but they have the same great personality.

There are NO dumb questions at all! Ask away.....there are alot of members here and threads that can answer anything you can question ok?

How old are you? Do you have many years to wait for your havanese or just a couple?

Well March isn't so long to wait....so make sure you read up as much as you can and find yourself a really good breeder that does all the health testing. That will make your chances alot better of getting the very best heathy havanese you can. They are wonderful dogs..so just make sure you find a really good breeder.

Already found one. Been in contact with him already.. Really nice guy and replies to everything and I saw his health guarantee. I think he is very good and Ryan (beamer) told me he was reputable as well. Only around 20 mins away from my house to so that is a plus.
