Sitting up like a groundhog

Is this a Havanese trait? Sorry if it's been asked before. I'm new to the forum. Snowball loves to sit up and if she want attention she basically starts waving with both front paws. Just curious if other Havaneses do this (nine years later it still makes me smile).

Actually, very few Havanese do that. Most like to stand on their hind legs, and will walk and twirl in that upright position. But very few can or will do the "sit pretty" (or "ground hog"!) pose. I was recently told by two breeders separately that this is called the "Cuban sit" among Havanese breeders, because it is most commonly seen among dogs that either come directly (recently) from Cuba, or their close descendants.

Well, that's interesting! I wonder why is more prevalent in dogs more closely tied to Cuba.
