small cyst near eye: what to do?

Phoebe has a small cyst just above the inner corner of her eye. It has been very slowly getting a little bigger over the last couple of weeks, not smaller.

Is this common? I'm wondering if I should take her in or not. It seems any treatment would need to be fairly invasive, and it is not causing any problems at this stage.

advice?
thanks

It sounds like it could be cherry eye- has she had an injury to that area recently?
I would take her into the vet to have it looked at-

Juliette, I have a story to share, but each case is different and you may feel better just taking phoebs to the vet. Cash had a small cyst on his upper eye rim (inside) when he was about a year. I did take him to the vet and she said to watch it...that sometimes they just come and go away on their own. Which is what happened to Cash. But it got very big before it receded. She did say that if it had to removed they would have to slice it out and stitch his eye back together.

Thanks for the input. Katie, thank goodness, it is DEFINITELY NOT cherry eye. I looked that up, and yuck, I'd be at the vet lightning fast if it were like that.
It is not inflamed, not red, not withing the eye tissues itself. Just a very small 2mm diameter cyst outside, and just above her eye line. I emailed the vet clinic for advice. It is definitely not causing any harm right now, but I bathed her again this morning and so I have a fresh view of her face... and it is just a smidge bigger each bath.

Hummm- how very strange! Is there anyway to get a pic of it?
Keep me updated on what the vet says-

My friend who has a lab had a cyst on his eye. The vet recommended surgery and biopsy. The cyst was surgically recoved and thankfully, the biopsy revealed that it was an embeded hair.

Please have it checked by your vet. Good luck!

Best, Poornima

Without seeing it, I'm guessing it is probably a clogged pore. Because of the location, I'd recommend you get her in to see your vet as soon as possible. No need to mess around with any pockets (puss, clogged follicle, or otherwise) in that area.

Do you have a good vet? I've been spending a lot of time in Menlo Park lately, but don't know any good vets yet. You aren't too far from Adobe Animal Hospital in Los Altos if you need a recommendation though.

Thanks for the advice. The vets at Adobe have an email consult service and said that it doesn't sound like we need to go in yet- as long as it is not bothering her in any way. I think I will wait a few more days or a week to see if it goes away or stays. It is not red or inflamed or infected at this stage, so waiting seems prudent.
Adobe seems to be a great clinic! worth the drive.
