Today was bath day at the KarMar household. I'm surprised Mario is still willing to come within 10 feet of me after what I put him through. One of the only things he hates more than the bath itself is the drying. I can't get anywhere near his face without him twisting and turning so frantically he ends up getting hurt
In the end, the wet head is nothing a little RLH can't solve. He got his hair cut to about half an inch about 6 weeks ago and now it's close to 3 inches...I think someone dumped Miracle Gro on him.
Of course, immediately after he's completely clean and dry, he asks to be let outside. I'm telling you, this guy's timing is awful. I really do love the lighting that comes with snow, so I made sure to snap a few photos (with my phone, so please excuse the quality).
Bit of a brag (albeit humble) coming up. We did some just-for-fun nose work today, and man oh man, he never fails to impress me. It's something we rarely think to work, but he enjoys it so much and
he's so disciplined with it. I gave him the 'find it' command, and off he went in search of his reward somewhere in the 2500 square feet of our house. In one particularly good go, he found it in around 3.5 minutes with no need for a redirect of attention AND he signaled his find with a nice sit before I gave him the OK to gobble up the treat. He's too leggy for conformation, and his luxating patella kept him from doing any intense agility; maybe his calling is as a bed bug sniffin' pooch
I really wish I had gotten a video. I'll try to film some tomorrow.
I know a lot of you are into obedience. What are some of the other fun things you do with your dogs?
