How much play time?

How much play time do you guys give your Puppys/full grown Havsa day?

Play time = actual play.. and not just being with you.

Thanks!

Ryan

I think it just depends on the pup. Some babies like to play till they drop and some like to sleep more than others. Let him be your guide, he will certainly let you know when he wants to play.

Brady is all about playing all the time. He is now a little over 1 year old. I would guess and say we spend at least 3 hours (if not more) a day outside throwing the ball, inside throwing toys, chasing the neighbors kids through the yard, and playing with his neighborhood doggie friends. Brady is not a couch potato by any means. He always wants to be on the go.

Not only do my guys move in their sleep, they also make lots of little noises. Usually the two little ones will almost sound like they are burping but in high pitches in their sleep, and the alpha, Lily will always run over to them & wake them up to be sure they are ok. I too love to watch them sleep!!!

Laurie, Shelby makes those little noises. It's so cute. Sometimes she lets out little barks, too. They are so precious.

Mine usually play till they drop. I had them out in the yard for a long time this morning and we were also at the dog park for a little while. They went to sleep at about 1pm and it's almst 4 now, and they are still asleep.

Wow, I cannot believe that they sleep that long when you are home. I am sure they sleep when I got to work, or run errands, but when I am home, they all have to be in the same room with me, or in the hall where they can see me. So everwhere I move, they move & they get to sleep for like 15 minutes, then we are on the move again. I almost wish mine would just stay sleeping without needing to follow me everywhere. My husband has told me that he has heard Logan barking in his sleep too. I have not heard it but the other sounds are so cute.

Pepper's about a year old and he plays a good 3 hours per day. Some with me and some with the other dogs. Usually he's good for about 15-30 minutes at a time, and then he naps until he's ready to go at it again.

Right now, in this heat, he's not so playful outside until after sunset. But indoors, in the air conditioning, he's a rascal.

I think my girls know their limits for the most part. I do watch them with agility because I think they might push themselves too hard in the heat. Dora likes to take more breaks outdoors. She will look for shady areas. Yesterday at the park she laid in the wet grass from the sprinklers a few times. Cool grass felt good!

I would estimate a total play time of an hour or two at age 2 1/2

Thinking of adding a Neezer, check out this thread!

Laurie, we were all in the living room. I ws catching up on some paperwork and they were sleeping. I think they got up once when I had to go potty. But they went right back to sleep.
