Medical decisions for dog when you travel

Now that Django is getting older and although he's doing amazingly well, I find myself thinking about his health and well being when we travel. We have a trip coming up in 2 months and we will be gone for 12 days. We have left him in the past with the puppy nanny for this amount of time and everything has worked out just fine, my concern is now that he''s getting older, things could go south quickly.

I have written a letter for the vet giving my puppy nanny authority to make any non-life threatening medical decisions regarding Django's health and a close friend of mine legal medical authority should the need arise. Does it look like my basis are covered? Am I forgetting anything?
What would you do in this instance?

It looks like you have everything organized. We have only gone away once since getting Scout and Truffles. When Scout was one year we had to leave him for five days. I found a very responsible pet sitter who stayed at our house from 5PM to 8AM. My friend spent the day with him which was perfect. We had a contract with the pet sitter. She was to take him to our pet hospital if there was any problem and notify me. I hope you have a wonderful relaxing vacation!

I always call in daily whenever I travel to check in and make sure everyone is in one piece. There has only been one time where Django wasn't well and I called the vet directly from Spain to see what needed to be done, conveyed that to the puppy nanny and all was good. I think I worry just a bit more now that he's getting older.
