A bit of a scare this morning!

I was in the kitchen getting Jackie's breakfast together for work and listening to the news when all of the sudden out of the mater bedroom in the back of the house it sounded like someone was beating Tucker with a stick. Jackie started yelling and for some unknown reason Tucker had gone to his crate and gotten his jaws over one bar and under another wide enough to not be able to get his mouth loose. This is the first time he has EVER tried to chew on his metal crate. She thought he was playing with his toys as he always does but for some reason decided to chew the crate. Scared the poor pup to death and he ran under the bed whimpering and whining. Mommy was upset and crying thinking the little fellow might have broke his jaw or something. He would not let me look at it for awhile but eventually I got his mouth open and there was just a little bloody spot behind the lower right canine tooth on his gum. After about an hour he was playing but still won't go near his crate. He ate a few treats and I was happy to see he was chewing fine. I think we will purchase a plastic style crate today and put the metal one Petsmart talked us into aside for awhile.

What a fright! Glad Tucker is fine now. I think your plan to replace his crate with a plastic one is a good idea; hopefully he'll transition to it easily.

Poor little Tucker. Hopefully he won't associate the scare you all suffered with the new crate.

Thanks everyone for the concern....he has his fluffy bed in the xpen today while I am here at work. I brought him to the shop with me yesterday and he was worn out by lunch so I gave him the day off today.... He was trying to rough play a bit with me before I left this morning so I think he is fine. Just scared the little bugger mostly I think.

Who wouldn't be scared if you were caught and couldn't get free. Glad there seems to be no major injury.

I'm glad the little guy is all right, and hope that he isn't scared of all crates now.

Poor little man. It is so crazy the things that can happen. You just can't foresee everything no matter how hard you try.
