Unhappy Murray's an only child now...

Our jack/fox terrier Chica went to live with one of my daughters and her family today. This was always the plan, but they ended up in an apartment for longer than anticipated, so Chica has been living with me since Sept, 2008.

Now they have a house with lots of room and a huge fenced in back yard....and the time & energy to spend with a rowdy jack russell terrier.

I'm feeling the void already...but I think Murray is relieved she isn't towing him around by the ears when he has had enough rough housing.

I bet you really miss him. Things will seem a little quiet for awhile now. Take some extra time with Murray 'cuz he'll miss having him around too! It sounds like a nice deal for Chica though. A new house with a big back yard! And you'll still get to doggy sit once in awhile I bet!

Thanks, Christy.

Yes, it is great for Chica and my daughter is quite pleased to finally have her home. They are quite active and will taking her hiking on weekends and generally doing all the stuff she needs to expend all that energy she gets pent up.

Murray looked for her this morning when we went out. Their normal routine was a 10 minute RLH and rough house out in the yard before coming back in for breakfast. Of course, after breakfast Murray is generally ready for a nap and Chica would want to continue to play, lol. We do still have Murray's buddies, the 3 indoor cats and to be honest, he always has seemed to prefer them to Chica.

Oh Sally, I sure know how you feel. My daughter Courtney lived with us when she got KoKo (a darling little Yorkie pup). Courtney moved into my townhouse when KoKo was 2. I missed her terribly even though I still saw her on a regular basis. I missed her so much I knew I needed a pupster to fill the void. I waited another year and a half to get my business established and then got Murphy. He is my little guy and I love him to pieces but KoKo is still my little princess!

LOL, oh yeah...I already had MHS and IWAP and now it is getting bad! I'll likely have to travel a fair piece to get a pup from a good breeder, though...and being as I am a florist and Valentine's Day is approaching, closely followed by wedding season, it won't be for awhile. Well...unless something irresistible happens along...
