Smile Any Suggestions on good puppy Food

I was curious on some feed back on dog food. I currently give my Doxie mix Wellness food, he seems to like it. Is there a paticular food that's good for Havanese? Just wondering what you guy's use!!!

thanks a bunch

Cristina

There was a poll done a while ago on what dog foods people preferred. It looked to be all over the place. I know that other folks use Wellness, so if you are currently feeding that to your other dog, that might make it easy when your pup grows up. But you'll need a puppy formula for now.

I feed Kodi Royal Canin Mini Puppy, but only because it was recommended by a trainer and his breeder. It's supposed to be a good food, and he likes it and has adjusted to it well. But There are lots of other good choices too.

When I got Panda the breeder was feeding her PMI. I switched her to Wellness puppy, but it caused her to be gassy and also contributed to loose stools. I've since changed to Natural Balance small bites (Panda is now almost 7 months) and put in a small amount of EVO red meat small bites. There was a post about the EVO helping with tear staining, but the EVO makes her gassy as well. She loves the kibble though so I continue to give her a little bit at each meal. She eats 2x per day.....

Hi Christina, read whatever you can. I don't like recommending foods because every dog is different. Here is some info though about puppy food. http://www.dogfoodproject.com/index....eeding_puppies and http://www.dogfoodproject.com/index....the_right_food The whole site is excellent information. My favorite , Sabine knows her stuff.

I've got Beanie on Core Wellness Puppy Mix, and it seems to be good for her. I saw great results for my labrador: I put him on Core whitefish/salmon because it has all those Omegas in it...this food has put a lot of spunk back into him...his coat is magnificent now, and he's 14. I like the fact that Wellness doesn't have a lot of junk in it; no additives etc. and is human grade. Of course it is expensive, but then you can't afford to skimp when it comes to your pets!

I feed Wellness Just for Puppy to my babies, and Welness Whitefish and Potato to my adults.
I get it in Roseville at the corner of Cirby and Rocky Ridge- Animal Nutrition and Grooming-

My Izzo eats Solid Gold Hundchen Flocken puppy and does great on it. I plan to bump him up to the adult formula when he's old enough.

We've had a really good experience with this food as well. The dog seems to like the flavor and we've never had any stomach issues on it since we switched over.

Desilu got into my older dogs' raw food when he was 8 weeks old and refused to eat kibble ever since. Not that I'd recommend it - it was really toughkeeping a raw diet balanced for a puppy. But he seems to have developed without any issues. (He's 3.5 years now and still eating raw.)
