Apples

Have you tried your Hav with tiny pieces of peeled apple?

Dexter loves them and will do lots of tricks for them. I don't over do the giving of apple treats, but he sure does love them.

Yep. I don't use fruit as training treats beacuse they're a little hard to work with. But Kodi loves a small slice of my apple when I have one, and he shares my husband's banana every morning!

Chloe loves apples. She patiently watches me slice her off a piece of mine daily.

Rascal and Pixie actually like a piece of orange in the morning! And the crispy spines of lettuce leaves. They also get all excited by broccoli.

My troops love apple too. But then again, they love almost all people food. It is their special treat. As a training treat I just recently bought Nutro Natural Choice crunchy treats with real apple (they also have blueberry). It's wheat free, (according to their hype) cleans teeth, freshens breath and is great for training. My guys love it. Have any of you tried it?

Tucker loves apples, carrots, the spiney parts of romaine lettuce. He didn't like the red pepper I put in salads though. Canned pumpkin is another treat he gets occasionally that he loves.

Bear loves apples. I discovered this by accident really. I was cutting up some apples for a dessert and a small piece fell on the floor. Zoom - Bear was suddenly by my feet and gobbling it up. lol

He also loves carrots and celery. These are really the only times he gets underfoot when I'm in the kitchen fixing my meals. Whenever he sees me pull the carrot/celery container or an apple from the fridge he breaks from his usually good behavior of pacing the boundry of my kitchen (he's learning to stay out of the kitchen when I'm cooking - small kitchen = easily stepped on or tripped over).
Bear stands on his hind legs like a jack rabbit, or leans with his paws against the cupboards so he can stretch his nose up higher, waiting for me to chop them up in small-ish pieces for him to eat. If he is good about it I will give him a few pieces. If not I won't and then of course he pouts. I've started to save a few pieces back so maybe he will recieve an extra special reward a little bit later when I tell him to sit, stay, or whatever I'm working with him in regards to different commands.
