One puppy demolition crew

I know it's bad!!!
But puppy hood is so short....I want her to have fun.
She is so darn cute while being naughty. She really doesn't do this very often. And she never swallows the cardboard. Is it true what I've read that most Havanese love to shred paper?

This cardboard was to keep her out of the bubble wrap in the closet behind. I see we need to go back to the metal barrier.

Emmie shredded a couple of paper products as a puppy but I didn't want her to develop a habit so I made our home paper-free; I removed all temptations that she could get into. Even though it is very cute, it was important that she not do it at other people's houses so I did what I could to curb her urge to shred. As an adult, I'm able to leave papers on the coffee table, empty cardboard boxes, and even tissues & paper towels and she doesn't mess with them.

Miss Sophie is sure cute in the video!

Karen I think it might be a while before she'll be able to stay loose in the house if I have to leave her home for a while. LOL.

Jeanne I agree, Sophie goes to a lot of houses and has never tried to shred anything. She is usually a perfect guest. And I rarely let her do this. (I can leave most papers, etc out now without her bothering them but we still have the blip now ad then). But I also let her be a puppy. The puppy months go by way too fast! She usually only shreds things I allow her to at home, tp and paper towel rolls. This was unusual for her to be ripping away on the cardboard but made me laugh so had to record.

My Dobe was a maniac as a youngster. Boxes of all sizes were his toys. (We are Amazon's favorite customers.) He'd run around carrying a box, attack it, shred it and shake it until it was just pieces of cardboard shredded to bits. It was definitely something that made us laugh. When I stopped giving him boxes as he got older he never bothered with them.

Now shoes....he trained us to put those in a closed closet.

I have some family who would freak out if Emmie chewed their papers so I just shut down that kind of fun early on. However, I've tried to make it up to her with way too many toys, balls, and chews, so she's definitely not been deprived! LOL

LOL Pauline! I can just picture that! Love when they have that much fun. And as a former Great Dane mom....my advice is to also never train your dog to retrieve your slippers from the closet for you. They will forever be a slobbery mess lol

Ha Jeanne I am SURE Emmy is not deprived by any stretch LOL!

Tess and Boomama not much cuter than a Havanese getting into trouble
