Pupsicles

Here's some "cool" recipes to keep our furbabies more comfortable in the coming months.

Pupsicles

Place some dry kibble in an ice cube tray. Fill with chicken broth and cover with plastic wrap; let freeze. A small Bully stick could be stuck in, too.

Peanut Butter Pupsicles

Ingredients:
4 cups rice milk or vanilla yogurt
1 medium mashed banana or 1 6oz. jar of baby fruit
2 tbsp. honey
2 tbsp. smooth peanut butter, without salt
Directions:
Mix ingredients well in a blender, then pour into ice cube trays. Freeze for four hours or more. When ready to serve, pop out of tray and place pupsicles in a bowl.

I hope your furbabies will love these on those "dog days" of summer!

Ice cubes are in the freezer. I only put a couple kibble and did dilute the broth with some water only because mom does not know how to give just one.. I'll let you know what they think when they are frozen.

Oh what a great idea! I think I might subsitute real chicken instead of kibble. She'd love that.

Thanks for sharing!

Leslie,
Very good idea! We have a little ice cream place down the road that does doggy sundaes. I took Belle and Dora and each ordered them one. They make the ice cream with no added sugar. Lets just say the ice cream was the size of Belle. Both of my girls ended up getting sick and that was them only eating half! Next time we will just have to share one!

But I do love this idea!

Amanda, they actually make ice cream just for dogs. You can get it in the freezer section of your grocery store. We got a few last year and had a birthday party with my pups & my girlfriends pups. It was adorable.

I literally just came from the park while the kids were playing and I

was reading a paragraph from my puppy book entitled
KONG STUFFING 101...

one of the ideas was to moisten puppy kibble, spoon it into a kong and put it in freezer overnight....a KONGSICLE!

Laurie,
My mom bought that somewhere before when Belle was little (okay she is all of 4.5lbs now!) and she carried that container that was the same size as she was all around!

I wish my girls liked the kong but they lose interest in it. I have seen other dogs that go nuts for it. They do like the treat balls that you put the dry treats in and then spin them around on the hardwood floors. probably not what i want to put frozen treats into though!
