Which front line size and coconut oil

I weighed Teddy last night and he weights 10.2kgs!!
Since I stopped over feeding him, giving him unlimited treats and sharing take out with him, he's dropped from 12.5kgs to a range of 9.5-10.3 kgs
He's half westie and has a westie size so I think he is at his ideal weight.

I need to buy him some front line and have to order online. The package size option is either;
- under 10 kgs
- 10kg to 20 kgs!

Which one do I get?

Also, when I was combing him last night, he had dry fur so I spread about a table spoon of coconut oil on him (and also on his face to keep his hair out of his eyes - he seemed to like the smell and the taste!).
He usually gets his Sunday egg fried in a teaspoon of coconut oil and I've not noticed any negative reactions to it.
He was eating peanut butter off his Kong and I left him for just a min to open the window....... Got back to find he abandoned his Kong and ate the whole tub of coconut oil (500g in under a min!) and now prefers it to peanut butter ?
He is no longer smelly teddy (but I think he licked himself all night as he no longer smells of coconut either!).

I didn't put any coconut oil on his neck where I would put front line but can't be sure if he rubbed himself on his towel (his daily routine) and got it spread to his neck.
Should I wash him before applying front line or would it be safe even if he got a little coconut oil on his neck? He isn't greasy.

No idea either on the size Frontline to get or the presence of Coconut oil on his neck. I'd check with the vet. However, if you want to keep him slim, be careful with the coconut oil. It's great for his coat, (though it is usually fed rather than spread on the outside of the dog ) but it has a LOT of calories in it!

I think I would wash Teddy very well before applying Frontline. Seems like the coconut oil might cause it not to be absorbed. Truffles breeder said it was very important to give her Grizzly Salmon oil daily. I now give Scout and Truffles a Nordic Natural Omega 3 capsule. I have to wrap it in soft cheese so it is swallowed. It does seem to help the coat stay conditioned. Check with your vet on the Frontline dose. I had the same dilemma with Truffles and Revolution being borderline 11lbs. (4.9kg).

Krandall, actually, coconut oil is traditionally used on hair by Asians!! It does wonders for your hair and even defrizzed and soften Teddy's fur (plus got rid of the mix of dog shampoo and wet dog smell!)

You're right about the calories though!

Heather, it sure is a dilemma!
What size of frontline did you end up getting for truffles?
I did send the the vet a message asking but got no response!

You're lucky that Scout and Truffles fall for tablets hidden in treats!! Teddy eats around it and leaves tablets no matter how we hide it!
The vet did teach me how to make him swallow tablets as he kept catching us out!
He still find ways to hide it in his mouth and spit it out it unless we stand over him and make sure it's swallowed!

I tried the Grizzly Salmon oil in their food, but they avoided it. They love anything cheese so a little Boursin pepper cheese wrap works great on a capsule. We use Revolution. I'm using the 10-20lb dose on them.

We don't get Grizly salmon oil here but am sure Cod liver oil would be similar?

Was very happy with the results from the coconut oil on his fur.
Might do that again but will keep watch of the jar to keep him from eating it!
Still can't believe how soft his fur is from just one use!

And it doesn't leave any greasy residue? I might try it.
