Post Partum Depression

Ever wonder why you got that dog anyway? I love Gillian's blogs.

Yep, sure did! The housetraining lightbulb didn't even go on in his cute little head until he was 5 months old! Goodness, I thought he'd never get the idea! It wasn't until after he was 5 months old that we made progress and he could have tiny bits of freedom.

I hear your Sheri. Congrats to you for sticking with it. Too many people give up and head to the shelter.

Post pupdum depression you mean! I took pupternity leave (ok vacation) each time I got one of my boys...and I was so exhausted after the first few days of having Jasper...but then I got into a rhythm. But when Cash came, I really do think I went into post pupdum depression. He was terrorizing my "first born." and he was peeing and pooping everywhere, and he waddled like a skunk and had too much fur to see him squat, and I told DH I wanted to send him back! But DH said the meanest thing he has ever said to me..."Cash is not a pair of shoes you can just return." Gasp!!! thank god he said that! After all Cash was just being a puppy! I hunkered down, gave Cash a haircut so I could see him squat ( I do think I looked a bit crazed sitting in the middle of the xpen chopping off all his beautiful hair...DH was a bit scared) But It worked, I could see him squat and that was the beginning of a beautiful relationship.

Oh Missy...I can just feel your despair at that point with Cash, and just picture you sitting in the x-pen cutting his hair, determined to make it work, if for no other reason than to prove to your dh that you could....well, that is what I would have been doing anyway.
