Ugh. This is exactly why I like to buy treats and then let them sit on a shelf sealed for a couple of months. Buy in advance so when the recalls come out, you know your batch is safe.

UGH! I usually buy Merrick so thanks for posting this. Thank goodness I have some flossies left from my last case (bought at least 2 months ago) so I feel safe with them!

Lily got extremely ill on December 16 with these symptoms: blood when she tried to go to the bathroom, throwing up, tired etc. I have never been so scared- she normally has such a happy disposition. We had gone to the local dog bakery and I purchased her some chewies (they sell Merrick) and a new food. Normally she is able to switch food easily and has never had a problem so I was really worried about her. The vet gave her some shots so she would stop vomiting and some antibiotics. He chalked it up to the food change although I had mixed in 3/4 of her old food with it. After being with her around the clock for 3 days it finally stopped. The only chewies I have been giving her are Merrick flossies from 3 months ago that she has never had an issue with. I really have to wonder if it was the chewies from the dog store. They were not the ones specified in the article, but were the same brand.

I just bought 4 Merrick Flossies for Petunia. I'm assuming that they are okay.

The Flossies are not in the recall, just the Merrick Beef Filet Squares. I've never bought these.

Oh no . . . I have just run out of these . . . Jackson loves them! I break them into smaller pieces to whet his appetite and for treats. Guess I will hold off on replacing. Thanks, Sally.
