"How smart and sensitive Havanese really are"
Before, I go into what Oreo did, I will give you some background. Lately it seems Oreo has decided to not eat his food in hopes of getting something "better". He does this every now and then and will eat the minimum he can just to get by in order to wait it out for either a food change or some of our food.
Oreo has been holding out for about a week, eating minimally of course, and yesterday he got an upset tummy where he threw up bile. Oreo is fine, his happy normal self, but since this happened when I was at work, I was not here to witness what Oreo did.
To give some background, whenever I noticed Oreo getting ready to throw up, I have always picked him up and rushed him to the bathroom and placed him in the bathtub - I know it sounds gross, but I find it would facilitate cleaning as the toilet is nearby to flush what I wipe up, and then I'd disinfect the tub. Anyways, my son told me that he heard Oreo whining yesterday, and when he looked for him, he found him IN THE BATHTUB! Now during this time, I was at work and my husband was out running errands with our youngest. Apparently Oreo had felt sick, realized he needed to throw up, and hopped into the bathtub. The thing was, was he could not get back out, so he called for my son to help him out. When Eric found him, Oreo was all tail wags and happy to see him. Once Eric saw what he had done, he gave him lots of praise and cuddles for all his effort.
So right now I am unsure about how I really feel about this because I feel very amazed at how Oreo really did not want to soil our home, but also feeling a bit bad that he really made a huge effort to please when he got sick.
But one thing that really stood out to me, is how intelligent and sensitive our havanese really are.
