Willow Is Turning Picky Or Is Under the Weather

I'm not sure what is going on with Willow. She has turned her nose up at her food that last two feedings. She used to be really picky when she was on kibble and sometimes would go a day without eating. Once I put her on Honest Kitchen she ate like there was no tomorrow. Then yesterday evening, she seemed reluctant to eat her dinner but finally did. This morning she had a poop accident inside which she hasn't done in ages. She also didn't eat her breakfast. She did beg for a piece of egg from my husband's breakfast. She's sleeping a lot too.

I'll be keeping an eye on her today. I'm not sure if she has an upset tummy or is turning into a picky eater again. I normally wouldn't be concerned about her sleeping as she does nap in the morning after breakfast and our morning walk. However, I decided not to walk her this morning as she was napping plus she didn't eat. So she is acting a little unusual.

Sorry Willow isn't feeling well. I think the poop accident might be due to an upset GI tract, if she is anything like Molly. I usually just offer bland diet foods for a bit until her normal appetite comes back.

I have found that Teddy refuses to maintain a schedule of eating. At first, I chalked it up to pickiness, but what I have found is that he does not eat during normal breakfast, lunch, dinner times. If I leave the food down all the time, however, he eventually eats it. As he's not an over-eater, I am not certain if that is a problem?

I think, if she were mine, if she's not back to normal tomorrow, I'd take her to the vet, just to check things out. Any ONE of these symptoms alone wouldn't be worrisome, but all of them at the same time would concern me enough to want to get her checked out.

Willow used to do that too. I would leave the kibble out all day and she would eventually eat. However, with the Honest Kitchen, she liked that so much that I was able to put her on a routine feeding schedule with no problem. Just seems odd that she isn't eating what she loved two days ago.

That's kind of my thoughts too. I just took her out for a pee and a short walk and she seemed pretty normal. She's still not eating her breakfast (I left it down for her). She was watching a chipmunk out the back door a bit ago. Seems to be following me around pretty normally. I'll be watching her closely. I hope she didn't get into something she shouldn't. Seems like everything goes in her mouth. If she doesn't eat her dinner tonight I'll try some low sodium beef broth (allergic to chicken) and maybe some rice.

Teddy did that too when we changed food, for a time. Then he got bored again.

I was wondering about that too, Sophie would eat a new food like crazy then get bored with it and turn picky again. Since her spay that has leveled out and she eats every meal now. But I know quite a few dogs will turn their nose up at a new food once the newness wears off.

I would do the same as you though and keep a close eye on her any behavior out of the ordinary is worth watching.

Scout's an extremely picky eater too. Sometimes he just decides not to eat for a day. Hope Willow's appetite improves by tomorrow.
