Question Treating with 'people food'

I was wondering how many of us give people food as treats to our havs?
It seems like Beamer is getting more and more treats these days. As long as its chicken, beef or fish I'm usually ok with that, but 'alot' of people are giving him different types of nuts, cheese, and who knows what else.. haha

Beamer is on a totally raw diet.. well except for his treats.. lol

Does everyone else's havs get people food treats to?? come on,... be honest!!

Ryan

The only people food Tucker gets are tiny pieces of cheese after grooming, boiled chicken occasionally, and a few pieces of pop corn when I have it.

I always have string cheese on hand for the dogs, but only use it when I'm doing training for something that demands attention. If I'm doing show training or recall, the string cheese comes out.

ETA: I forgot about green beans. Again, they aren't doled out just because I have them, but I use them for impromptu training sessions when I'm serving green beans.

I occasionally give her chicken, cheese, carrots and apples. I know there are others in my family who sneak her other food, especially during the holidays!

Yesterday we were visiting my dad and I caught him giving her Cheez Its. His response "What? She loves them!" LOL.

yup! everything and anything (except those things that are poisonous) and in tiny morsels. Pieces of meat, fish, cheese, veggies,...they love PASTA and even a crumble of cookie...but their all time favorite is licking the spoon after DH's ice cream every night. it is a bonding experience for us and the boys...and we do it right from the table too. some how they just know that it is ok with us but not when we have company.

Nuts would worry me though Ryan, not sure why though.

Cheese and chicken are the only people foods we allow Murray to have. I frequently do not eat an entire chicken breast when we fix them for dinner and Murray knows he is likely to get my left overs. He is so good about not begging for them, though...

Mine get cheese to take their heartworm pill, occasionally boiled chicken, bits of carrot or apple but I think that's it. We've never fed them from the table so they don't beg at all but they're all chow hounds who go nuts for any kind of food!

Mine get pretty much anything I eat (with exceptions of course), in small amounts. When I've finished my dinner if there is anything left (often is), it get shared amongst the troops. Each one gets a little bit when all is said and done. If I only had one, it would no doubt be a blimp.

Rosie gets the crusts from my sandwichs, the last bite of meat from my plate, etc. She knows that when I finish eating, there will be one bite left for her, so she waits for it. Hasn't affected her appetite for her dog food and she doesn't beg from her daddy's meal--knows it won't do any good. The only thing I don't let her taste is sweets. I have never bought dog treats, just the dental chews.
