Sleep talk...

Our baby Toby (9 weeks) seems to be saying things while he is fast asleep!

Is this normal? Hope he is not missing his mom and siblings?

Kodi is almost 7 years old and sometimes talks in his sleep... and OFTEN "runs" in his sleep. I seriously doubt he's missing his siblings at this age. We call it "chasing wabbits"!

It sounds like he's dreaming...my Sophie whimpers and jerks and tries to tell me stories when she's dreaming. We've also called it "chasing rabbits" LOL I'm so curious what they do dream about! I hope it's all good dreams!

I have to tell you a funny "chasing wabbits" story...

Several years ago, we were camping in the early spring, before schools let out, so the camp grounds were almost empty. One place told us we could let Kodi run loose in a big back field. He had been on leash for a whole week, and we knew he would enjoy this. So we we let him go, and he started doing his typical Havanese RLH in circles around us. Suddenly he literally tripped over a rabbit hiding in the grass. He rolled one way, the rabbit rolled the other, then took off like a bat out of... The look on Kodi's face was PRICELESS! He turned and looked at us, with these HUGE eyes. You could almost hear him saying, "Did you SEE that?!?! I almost CAUGHT it!!!" He looked and looked, but, of course the rabbit was LONG gone. There was some SERIOUS "wabbit chasing" in his sleep that night!

ROTFL that's hilarious! I have seen that expression on doggie faces before I can just picture it LOL. Kodi must have been as surprised as the rabbit was! It's actually super interesting that he dreamt a lot that night, they must dream about things most important to them.

Lola occasionally has mini woofs in her sleep. It's the cutest thing ever.

Chloe does the same thing quite often - I usually call her name she'll stop.

I don't interfere when they are running or chittering with excitement. The only time I interfere is once in a GREAT while, Kodi does ahve what seems to be a "bad dream", where he will whine and almost cry in his sleep. When he does that, usually just saying his name and soothingly telling him he's fine will bring him to the surface and it will stop. If it's a REALLY deep dream, and that doesn't stop it, I've once or twice needed to stroke him gently and talk to him until he came to. (at which point, he stretches and looks at me a little sheepishly, like "I didn't do that... you made it up!" )
