Well, maybe I would also. Rosie is beginning to get the tiny knots in her hair. It maybe because I haven't bathed her in two weeks and she has been to the kennel and all. Will try to get to her this weekend. The last bath everything just slid right out matts and all. I used my old hair pick (the one with the long metal tines) and went through her hair with it first then just combed her out. I use pantene conditioner on her and have had not problems up to now. She is 10 months. Maybe I have just been lucky--you think? If she is starting to shed the old hair, I hope she does it quickly or she may get the puppy cut and since I live in a small town, I will have to get my scissors out--won't be pretty.

I is possibly to get thru coat changing time with your dog in full coat and mind intact...the key is...spend some time every day...10 minuts a day instead of several hours every once in a while...MUCH nicer for both you and the dog...

Just put it in you scedual...AND make sure you start with the difficult parts...under the belly, the INSIDE of the legs, the armpits, behind the ears...

Bath once a week during this time...and never bath a dog with matts...

THEN use the 200$ for som fun stuff like a freestyle class, agility class...or maby just rent a movie and get some nice icecream and cuddel up with your clean dog and your clean "have to do with my dog" list...

Maby next photo assigment should be "just out of the bath"...to inspire???

This is my Hulda, just out of the bath. She had babies just shy of 6 mounts ago...so still a bit frizzy

Can I clarify please? To get rid of matts do we bath, use shampoo, pantene, and then comb carefully?

I think she means you have to get rid of the mats first. But to tell the truth, I didn't with Rosie. I just bathed and then used the pantene and picked through them, rinsed and they were gone. Worked for me. Probably will never work again. But I had a curly headed little girl and she at nearly 50 still has kinky hair, she just picks hers out--course she no longers get the tangles like the little girl did.

By the way, that is the prettiest dog I have every seen Karen!! Is she a champion?

Karin,

Hulda looks gorgeous. I wish mine would look that well groomed on their best day of home grooming.

Karin she's stunning. I just couldn't keep up. Pixie's coat is soo thick and the knots were awful. Can I send her to you until her coat is long, then ship her back to me!!??!!

You put the matts out before the bath

And yes, you you where lucky to just bath with the matts in and still get them out...I figure it is because your girl just have not enter the coat changing period yet...but 10 mounts...YES, you are getting there...

What often happend is that the matt tightend when you put wather on them, and they get tighter with warm wather...

So get the matts out before the bath...IF you have a matt that you just canīt remove...and need to cut it...cut "in to it", not off...then you will not get a "cut" in the coat...

Is is FUN grooming!!!!!

Ismo, after bath last week

It is a good thing I don't live in Sweden, I would have to have one of your pups. Your dogs are to die for.
