Hi guys...new to the forum and have a question....

Hello everyone! So here is my question...my girlfriend has a dog named Knox and he is by far the CUTEST dog I have ever seen or been around. When she rescued him we were told he was a cocker...well we now know thats definately NOT the case. So we thought maybe cocker/terrier mix....

Well we came across some info on the internet after seeing pictures of dogs that looked JUST like him. The Havanese.....He fits the description from what I've read perfectly...he LOVES furniture, follows us EVERYWHERE, has seperation issues when we have to leave for work, only eats one morsel at a time, etc.

The only thing that doesnt fit in the picture is his tail....his is more elongated and kinda sticks up/out rather than curling over his back....so yeah...what do you guys think? Havanese in him? I attached some pictures to help.

Here you can see his tail better:

I definitely can see some similarities. He reminds me of a black and tan neezer-love his eyebrows. In any case, he's a very cute boy!

Oh hahaha! Thanks :P Yeah....Its just bugging the heck out of both of us that we just wanna find out what he is even though he is probably a mut/mix. After coming across havanese info and such I almost came to the conclusion thats what he was but his tail gets in the way :P Not literally lol. But yeah...he's soooooooooooo cute!! Im more of a cat person but he is definately the coolest and sweetest dog I've ever had the pleasure of being around.

Yeah....the people we got him from said he was a cocker but I think they were way off base. We were thinking about getting one of those DNA tests done that tell you what breeds are in the dog....not sure if they are really reliable though. Anyone have any experience on those?

Those DNA tests are not very reliable. I know some breeders that have done it on purebred dogs they bred, not Havanese, to only be told their purebred dog had several different breeds in it all big dogs and this breed was a small breed. I would save your money and enjoy the sweetheart no matter what he is, as I know you are.

ahhh the scattered food on the floor may be a dead giveaway that he may hav some Hav. does he pick up one piece at time and take elsewhere to eat it? (a hav trait) the

I read here somewhere that Havanese are not included on the DNA tests. He does look a bit big for a Hav and the tail is off ..seems like Tibetan Terriers mixes are showing up a lot. They look like bigger Havanese.

what ever he is he is adorable

Great thanks for the info! Does your havanese love furniture and jump all over it like he's a cat? lol
