how do you dry your hav?

i have never given my hav a bath. he gets alot of spa paw baths when we walk but never a full blown bath. he doesn't roll and doesn't get dirty so the groomer does it all every 5 weeks. but on the occassion we are out walking and its raining or we are out walking and it's muddy, he needs a mini wash. the problem is he is always wet and cold. no matter how well i think i have dried his legs and belly, they are still wet. i don't want to use a regulra blow dryer cuz i think the heats too hot. any suggestions? i like those mini blowers that the groomers use but wouldn't even know where to begin,

I towel dry Kipling first. He then runs and shakes and has his moment. And then I take him into the bathroom and I use a blowdryer on him. I keep my hand on him where the blowdryer hits so I can ensure I do not leave it in one spot and burn him. He is tolerant and often cozies right up to my leg while I sit on the floor. I usually do not manage to get him completely dry but 80% and for the rest of the time I keep him inside in a warm place while he air dries.

After a bath I always blow dry my boys with my dryer. I put it on medium, not too close to their bodies, and keep it moving. On my list of to do's is to get a professional dryer one day, but we have no problems with drying.

Microfiber towel to remove as much water as possible and then my blow dryer. I just keep it moving and a good distance from him.

^ Yes, the microfiber towels are AWESOME! I guess one of the benefits to living in Miami is that I don't really have to worry about Roscoe being cold after his baths :P I just towel dry him, first with a regular towel to get off the surface water, then the microfiber towel to really get him quite dry, then he runs around and dries off totally in less than 45 mins.

Sasha gets a quick dry with a towel and then she gets wrapped in a warm towel and sleeps on my lap. She is a "little spoiled", but in the Northwest she needs a bath about every two weeks. I think it would take too long for her to dry normal and the blow dryer frightens her. Linda

I use a combo of the above - microfiber towel first, then wrap in a warm towel and coze for a few minutes, then the "shake and have his moment" (:, then upstairs to the grooming table and small dryer, I use it both in hand and in it's stand. I use the low cool setting and med with my hand nearby to gauge. To train him to it I took up cooked chicken the first couple times, started with rewarding him just to be on the table, then to be in my arms while the dryer was turned on in its stand, then my arms moved in front of the air... small steps all rewarded. In just 3 sessions he went from OMG what is that?!? to totally ignoring it, walks right up and sticks his face in it if I'm not careful!
Oh, one more thing - I bought that dryer with the stand online for about $23 and it was well worth it!

I got the dryer on the stand, too, and love it. I also keep my hand in the air stream to make sure it's not too hot. I've never been able to get him 100% dry, but pretty close.

My blow dryer (a human one) has hot, warm and coll settings as well as hi and low for speed. These are a bit more expensive than the one setting ones, but I've had this one for YEARS, so it has been well worth the slight extra cost. I still keep my hand between him and the blower though, so I' sure it remains at a comfortable temperature.

I also use a regular blow dryer with the Hi, Low and Hot, Warm, Cool settings. I alternate between Hi-Warm and Hi-Cool. She looks so pretty when we're all finished! She didn't like it initially, but she gets bathed every 7-10 days so she has now gotten used to it. I give her a Nylabone to chew on and she does really well.
