I posted this to the hav lists on Sunday and Bandit is still making sure that her Daddy pays attention to his flowers.
I found out yesterday that today is Father's Day (what a surprise!)
so I went to the store around midnight after Steve went to bed. I got him a large bouquet of lilies (it was the first type of flower he ever bought me when we were dating)
and a card from the dogs. All of the dogs wanted to see what I was bringing in the house from the grocery store, then got bored when they saw the flowers except Bandit.
She wanted to smell them and sat and watched me arrange them with great interest which kind of surprised me. Normally at that time of night all she cares about is being in bed stealing my pillow.
She watched as I arranged the flowers and then wanted to see the card. I read the card to her and said it was a doggie card for Daddy from them. She gave it her lick of approval then followed me into the office where I put the card and flowers on Steve's desk, then off to bed she went (and Bandit being Bandit, took my pillow).
I stayed up till 4 am watching the beautiful display of lightning waiting for a storm that went pooft just as it got to Corpus. I should know better by now as that always seems to happen, but the times I go to bed, we do get a storm.
I slept in this morning and when I got up, Steve couldn't wait to tell me about Bandit. This morning when he got up, he did his normal routine of turning off the alarm and opening the back door so the dogs can go potty. With Bandit being pregnant, she's usually in a big hurry to go potty, but this morning she refused and ran into the office instead. Steve was puzzled,
so he followed her.
She was there pointing up at the flowers. Steve says her nose was stretched as far as it could go toward the flowers and she looked like a pointer. He gave her a kiss and told her thank you for the flowers and expected her to go outside then. Instead she kept pointing up at the flowers, so then he saw the card. He opened the card and gave Bandit a kiss and hug for the card,
then she flew to the back door to go potty.
What a girl
