Does anybody make or sew doggie accessories?

I was sorting through my 'junk closet' the other day and came across an entire drawer full of quilting fat quarters in various dog-themed prints. My SIL used to have a Bichon and I would occasionally make her a few bandanas.

I'd forgotten I had done this and now want to start up again, so am going to make a few little bandanas for my new puppy, Holly, and her brother, Tucker, who will be living with our best friends a few doors away.

Haven't used my sewing machine in years (I put in away when I began making handmade soap) and now I want to make doggie accessories! Does anybody else do this? I'd like to make a pieced quilt throw and a few tied throws and might make a few lightly stuffed dog beds.

Am going to look up and see if any patterns for dog clothing. That's not as interesting to me though.

My hubby is always happy when I start sewing because it keeps me from shopping online.

Any other ideas?? Would love to hear or see items others have made!

I've sewed dog clothes, harnesses, leashes..blankets, beds, gosh...just about everything! They do have some really cute patterns available for pets and so many things you could do.

With small blocks,I'd probably make a patchwork throw or doggie bed, that'd be cute, or anything really...

Most of what I sew is quilts. I have a friend who makes the cutest little harnesses. She makes them as dresses for the girls and little vests for the boys. (She's always offended b/c my guys don't wear clothes.)

After seeing dog coats upward of $150 and seeing how simply they are made, I have had the urge to start making them; but work, husband, etc have kept me from my sewing machine. It would be fun to start a clothing and accessory sale by the forum members.

Thanks for the replies! I searched for some patterns and found some for coats and think I can do those.

I dusted off all my quilting stuff last night and went through my baby quilt books and found a lap quilt I am going to make to use on our pontoon boat for my dogs to sit on. I cut out everything last night and plan to piece it this week and will probably machine quilt it. It's going to be a brightly-colored "under the sea" quilt.

Also found a flannel receiving baby blanket I had made and never used. I took it to the breeder's yesterday to hold Holly with -- and then took it back home for our mini schnauzer to smell so he will learn her scent before she comes home.

Found a few great sites for some other projects and can't wait to get started on those! Oh - and bows! I hadn't thought of making bows and not sure if I'll use them but some easy directions to make them.

Here is a photo of Holly on the flannel blanket from yesterday. I am going to cut the hand-stitched edges off and re-sew on the machine and remove the ties and do a quick machine stitch where they are to make it puppy-safe.

I've made several dog coats for my daughter’s very short haired Matilda and dog beds for my girls. I'm looking for some material to use for an apron or smock when washing the dogs.
