stress and pooping

my poor django, he finally got the hang of the pee pee pads, so far he's been on mark every week. becuase he's managed to escape from the kitchen several times, i've had to change the configuration of things and he's still confined to the kitchen when we leave but his visual of us coming and going is gone. when i return home, he's peed on the pad (yippie) but the stress of the new confinment is causing him to poop! the behaviorist said to ride it out a week and he will adjust,i just feel so bad for the little guy. he poops in the same spot in the kitchen, i thought about putting a pee pee pad there as well. these little guys are soooo sensative.

Does he usually go that time of day?

GUcci won't poop in the same place she pees, so I would have to put a special pad out for that. I do, however, think stress can cause changes in potty times, you can always try to alter the feeding times to rule out eating schedule.

I have found that it takes a bit of time for them to adjust to change, they are very habitual and crave structure and routine, imo.

well he poops first thing in the morning, outside of course. then he eats his breakfast. i usually leave him by 10:00 a.m. and between that time and when i return, about 4 hours later, he's pooped in the kitchen, same place every time. i might put a pee pee pad down, the pooping i believe is stress releated cuz he's never pooped in the house when we have left him behind, just pee, and that's due to the meds. we are leaving for florida today and the dog sitter is coming over,2 stresses for django! but hopefully he will get thru this by the end of the week. it's interesting how the slightest change is alot for them.

Try feeding him a treat or a little kibble in the spot he poops on. And also be sure to clean that spot well with Nature's Miracle. Of course, he then may choose a different spot! LOL Oh, these dogs are clever. Hang in there, it does get better!
Enjoy Florida!

Hopefully Django will be o.k. and doing just fine while you are away. Most times, they do miss us, but they get distracted when someone else is caring for them and time goes by rather quickly. Don't worry too much.
