just too cute JoJo antics

JoJo is growing completely into a funny little girl. Here lately I have been the worst puppy parent as I cannot control my laughter long enough to redirect her from her misdeeds. Last night she was chewing on one of the mats we have for the big dogs to lay on when in the living room. Each time we told her no she would look up with the cutest mischievous expression on her face, stare at us for a few minutes and commence chewing again. It was exasperating my husband and I just sat there and laughed and laughed. He finally got up and redirected her and she began running around happily playing with whomever (dog cat person) that would participate. She is nine months now and I know I need to become more firm. She brings such joy. I don't think she has blown coat yet although I do find some very teeny mats and a small amount hair is coming out on her comb at night but nothing significant for me to start combing more than once a day. She still has excited pee occasionally when I come home from work but it is much better and I am waiting for a full week for when we are excited pee free in the near future. We are having fun with her in our family. We found the best new pet/house sitter for our recent vacation and am so happy to have found her. If anyone is in the Plano area I would be happy to PM contact information.

Congrats on your progress with JoJo - she sounds adorable!

IMO, I think Havs do better with teaching them what you want and not what you don't want, so saying No is not the best technique to get her to stop chewing on the mat. I think it would be better to replace the behavior with an acceptable chew toy and for awhile you may want to remove the mats to curtail the habit.
