Filling Out

Just got back from our food store where we checked Nino's weight. At 7 and a half lbs, he's much lighter than I thought he would be at this age. We knew he would be at the small end of the spectrum, but this seems tiny given his body frame. He's a thin little thing right now, so I was wondering what I could do, short of force feeding him, to cause him to fill out a bit more? He has muscle definition that is average for his age, so it's just a bit of fat he needs to gain with muscle adding on as we continue frequent exercise. More treats? Food that's higher in calories? Any suggestions are welcome!

Sophie, Nino, and Brisket (Mario too!)

Emmie filled out between 12-18 months so you may just need to give it time.

I wouldn'tTRY to put fat on him. That comes with time anyway, if you're not careful. As long as he is HEALTHY thin and muscly, I'd just let him grow. You know the saying... It's a lean horse for a long race. ...But then, I hate fat dogs.

yeah I wouldn't try to put weight on unless you consult with a vet.

That's a good idea to add some fat to his foods! I have learned what kind of Foods to Give Your Pet and How.
