I just use their canned food. They're always looking for more of that and it's quick and easy - since it's already in the house!

I buy a cheap beef roast, cook in oven until tough and dry, cut into pieces large enough I have to force into the kong. Freeze place in Kong frozen. One roast will fill about 10 med. Kongs. The girls will work for hours getting out the meat. They have learned to throw the Kong to help loosen the meat.

Jill, does the canned food not make a mess?

We just re-discovered our Kongs as a useful "leave us alone" tool. Canz real meat treats. one square is almost impossible to get out...but Cash keeps trying-- he bounces and pushes and I swear tries to slurp. Jasper knows that eventually he will just get us to get the treat out for him so he does not even try.

These are pretty much the only treats we use as they break up really easily for training, are low in calorie (2.5 a square), and 95% meat. But sometimes I shove a baby carrot in too.

loving all these idea's. Riley has learned this winter how to throw his kong at me Now if he would only figure out that is not how we get things we want in this house I would call him a smart boy.

We stuff apples, cookies/biscuits, and jerky. I'll pack it in, with the best treat inside. Mochi knows how to climb on to the couch and throws it. Tofu gives up if she can't get them out. She waits for Mochi to toss her kong, hoping she can get to the fallen pieces first.
