There are many commercial raw foods available, and I'd suggest one of those rather than trying to do it on your own... it is VERY easy to get the ratios off and cause nutritional imbalances with home made food if you don't know what you are doing. There are also commercial probiotics you can mix with the food. One good one is for humans, Jarrowdophilus, and can be purchased at Whole Foods, in a refrigerated section near their health food aisles.
The one I use is Dogzyme Digestive Enhancer. It's easier for me because it doesn't need to be kept refrigerated like the Jarrowdophilus:
That said, a lot of dogs eat their own poop, and it can be a tough thing to figure out why. The BEST way to solve the problem is to make it impossible for them to get to their poop, by taking them out to potty on leash, and pick it up as soon as it hits the ground. Even then, some are incorrigible.
I'm SO happy that none of mine have done it!!!
