Babble Ball

Anyone have one of these? I'm looking on the HRI store right now and I wanna get something for Roscoe - this looks like fun but I'm afraid he'll be interested in it for like 10 minutes and then get bored.

Is this the hard plastic ball that says things when it moves? My guys were freaked out by it. Once in a while one of them will accidentally hit it in the toy box and then they avoid the toy box for days. Hmmm... Maybe I should put it in the trash can... <VBG>

Ruby got a babble ball for Christmas, was scared of it, and I don't think she has tried to play with it since.

[FONT="Tahoma"][FONT="Tahoma"][SIZE="3"][LEFT]Lacie has had the small, blue-colored babble ball for two days now.

It was love at first sound! She is so inquisitive about finding "the sounds" that she has been chewing the plastic in an effort to open it up and see what is in there.

Very tiny pieces of the casing come off when she chows down, so I have had to take it away from her so she does not swallow any of it.

She hunts for hours trying to find it, as she is absolutely wild about it.
I have had to hide it outside so that she cannot find it. (Just the slightest movement sets it off.)

If it were indestructible, I would love for her to play with it because it wears her out!!! Problem is, it is not.

I am considering purchasing another one with a smooth finish to it that she will not as easily be able to chew it up.

If your dogs are not "aggressive chewers," or on the "timid side", then I think this would be a great toy for them.

Try it!

Mine played with it for a few minutes and every once in a while will push it across the floor but it's too hard for them to pick up or chew on. More than anything, it scares the heck out of me when I walk through the house in the dark and suddenly this voice says something!

Brady and Dugan have one. They are not afraid of it, but not too interested in it either. They will play with it once in a while. When their friend , Luc, comes to stay with us, it is the first toy he looks for. I had to buy new batteries for it, he wore it out.

Cicero loves his and will play till I am tired of the noise. I have to take it away and hide it. It's great for when I want to wear him out.

Hmmm, thanks for posting the videos, Leslie. I may have to look for one to see if Tucker might like it. I'm not sure if he'd like it or be afraid of it. But, watching the videos, he really perked up, got up off the couch and tried to find the noises on the other side of the laptop in my lap. Ha!
