Remembering Brookie

It has been a week since we put Brookie to her rest. Today we went to the vets to pick up her ashes. I can't say enough about how wonderful they have been. We are at our Florida home and did not have a vet here. Our vet in Connecticut connected with a recommended vet . He and his staff (who had never met us before) helped us through this impossible situation and have kept in touch with us all week. They became our family when we were so far away from family and friends.

Along with a beautiful engraved box with Brookie's ashes, we also received her paw print and some of her fur. We went to the nursery and purchased a plant to adorn our yard in her honor (we picked something pink but prickly to match her personality). When we told people in the nursery about her, everyone was crying about dogs that had loved. It was a healing day.

I think dogs are angels on earth and that Brookie will always be in your heart and you in hers.

It is wonderful that you have people around that feel what you are going through and are supportive. Your choice of plant to honor Brookie makes me smile. It looks perfect.
