Quick question?

Ok so last night we all go on our nightly brisk walk we are in Georgia and its hot hot here still we still are swimming in our pool! Anyways we are about to go to bed 9:30 girls go to bed. Darla cant get settled at all and gets up she lays on her pillow beside our bed and she rings the bells I get up and take her out nothing she just wants to bark at the 2 mama deers and babies which is fine they are fun to look at but eat all my flowers urghh!

Go back in same thing i said ok thats enough go potty she goes...Literally y'all gets up at midnight guess what wants to be a deer and grazes and grazes eats the grass? Im thinking what in the world? she comes back in and hr later rings the bells, same thing grazes on grass. She comes in 2:30 rings the bells I let her out runs to the grass and eats more!! Finally she settled down and slept woke up lazy this am at 9! She's playful, barking ,playing chase barking and ate her breakfast! Why do they eat grass at times? So Im wiped out Im old and need sleep!

Of course I don't sleep in because Heidi is my tomboy up at 6:30 am ready to go lord! Oh and we installed a doggie door guess who is scared of it? Darla!!! so she won't go through the doogie door. bell ringer for life!! Heidi loves the dang door but is a bell ringer too talk about mass confusion LOL...

Thats was way too long(sorry)
oh I feed the girls kibble Zignature plus add Primal freeze dried as a topper no chicken or beef they are fish chicks! And have noticed they only want to eat 1 x a day which isn't a bad thing esp on my wallet!

Any grass grazers here? It was weird she maybe has dome it a couple of times but last night was a lot?

My Bichon always ate grass when she had an upset tummy. She would sometimes vomit shortly after. I could never figure out if she did it to settle her stomach or make herself throw up. Molly never eats the grass.

My recommendations to curb late night trips:
1. Take Darla outside on a leash - don't say anything to her except go potty when you walk her to a preferred spot. If she doesn't go after 5 mins bring her back inside. And repeat if she rings the bell again.
2. Or you could just ignore the bell ringing if you're sure she doesn't have to go and the bell ringing is an established habit.

A little grass eating can be a normal thing for dogs, but eating a lot of grass is because of an upset stomach. If it happens much I'd double check what is in food, consider what could be upsetting her stomach. If it goes unchecked it CAN lead to digestive problems that are hard to deal with long term. Or, it can be a symptom of a digestive problem brewing.

(Ask me how I know...)
