Who said breeding was easy?

Pam and I decided that we would like to keep a Male puppy from a Nike/Breeze breeding. This is the breeding that produced Java, that's known here on these forums. Breeze's owner has decided that she wants to neuter Breeze, but would wait long enough for us to breed Nike one more tim

Nike came into heat a short while back, and testing showed that today was the first day she would be ready for breeding. Pam has been in contact with Breeze's owner, and they have made all the plans.......except for one thing....Hurricane Matthew.

Breeze lives in Fayetteville,NC, right where some of the largest amounts of rain fell from Hurricane Matthew. All major highways into there are closed due to flooding. Their house is on high ground, and there is a way in there, but in a very roundabout way on back roads with much more than the usual amount of traffic.

Pam and Nike left this morning in the Subaru. What normally would have taken just over a couple of hours to get there took most of the day. They had a long tie. Pam and Nike are somewhere on their way back home now, and will do it all over again on Wednesday.

If we do end up with a male we want to keep out of this breeding, I'm thinking we may need to name him Matthew.

OMG. I hope she gets there alright. I heard there is still flooding going on in some parts.

In case any of you are wondering, Java is exceptionally smart. At least, I think so. She is well- mannered and just very personable. And her coloring is so incredibly beautiful. Her temperament is awesome. For our trick we learned to graduate puppy basic, I taught her to shake hands. The trainer called her shake delicate, she placed her paw into my hand so gently.

Can I say enough about Java and her breeding? I think not. Great pups are going to come and how awesome would that be?

ETA: Oops. I skipped right over the fact that they are home already. Yay, Pam and Nike!

It sounds like Matthew would the perfect name! All fingers, toes and paws are crossed for the perfect little boy to carry on after his wonderful mother!!!

If you do litter names, it should be the "Against All Odds" litter.
