RIP SWEET HEATH
Hello Forum Friends--I last posted in August 2015 about our Heath. He became very dramatically ill July 4 th 2015 and after many tests and vets and finally a spinal tap and MRI, we received a diagnosis of a severe and terminal neurological inflammation of unknown etiology, but thought to be autoimmune. We had a fabulous neurologist at VCA Rohnert Park, CA, Melanie Campbell, who kept Heath going for 15 months, using seizure meds, Prednisone, and oral or infused chemo. He had a couple relapses but mostly a great quality of life. He died suddenly Sept 29, less than a day after we returned from 3 wks in Sicily. He'd been doing great the entire time we were away, with our fabulous dog sitter. We are so grateful we were home. We've never lost a dog and he was barely 8. It was unbelievably traumatic. We still have our first Havanese, Biscuit, who is 10.
Wanted you to know how things sadly transpired.
All the best, and Happy Thanksgiving.
Amy. That's Heath in the photo. He was a rare and gorgeous red, though the meds bleached his coat over the last year.
HAV A GREAT DAY ! ~~AMY & BISCUIT~~
