Proviable-DC

Scout and Truffles have been taking Proviable-DC once daily for 2.5 months. Scout is light and had a little staining around his mouth and left eye. Since Joe Pat mentioned he had good results I thought I'd give it a try. The groomer was here today and agreed that the staining is gone. It did work for us! 😊

Interesting. We too tried the 80 day pack of Proviable-DC starting about 6 weeks ago. We have about half the supply left and I give it on a daily basis. I can say that Ricky's staining is a bit worse than when we started. I believe everyone else when they say it works for them, but believe me when I say it doesn't work for us. I think dogs have different independent biological systems, just like individual humans, and not every food, medication, and supplement is equally efficacious on every dog. I will be using the Proviable til gone, but at this point, I have no plans to reorder.

As a test, I stopped his daily face washing while giving Proviable and his staining has been marginally worse. I find that daily face washing and feeding only filtered water, although not completely effective, works better than than anything else I have tried.

Thanks for the updates on Proviable. Willow is on it too. I do think that the staining is lighter and I'm really hopeful that when all the stained hair is eventually trimmed off that she will be stain free. Even her feet are stained from licking and I keep parting the hair and what's coming in is white. I hope it's just not because it's new growth and hasn't had a chance to get stained. The groomer also feels the staining on her mouth is lighter and the new growth around her mouth is mostly stain free. I'm glad to hear it's working for some of you. I'm keeping my fingers crossed!

from Sabine ..." Sometimes keeping the area clean and acidic (e.g. dabbing daily with a lemon juice or white vinegar solution, carefully avoiding the eye) can help, sometimes adding probiotics helps, sometimes using distilled water helps. In some cases you have to take several steps at the same time."

I wash Leo and Rexy's face with shampoo after every meal and they only have access to filtered water. Even so Rexy had beard staining and Leo had some tear staining that responded for periods of time to homeopathy. I have been feeding them exclusively on Primal Freeze-dried raw beef and limiting any treats to beef or beef liver. I have also been giving them Proviable-dc. So whose to say exactly what or what combo is responsible for the cessation of so much tearing, tear staining and beard staining. However, I am pleased and don't want to upset a seemingly successful protocol so we'll just stick to the Primal, filtered water, Proviable-dc and beard washing. I do love Leo and Rex's cute unstained faces!

I'm so surprised that the Probiotic really did make a difference! I didn't think it would work. I agree with Ricky's Popi that it may not work for every dog. It has been quite noticeable the last few weeks where there is no stain in the corner of Scout's left eye and mouth area. I'm not sure if it has any effect of Truffles because she is brown. We are on our second order of 80 capsules. Hope it continues to work!

Interesting. I bought some as well, and it arrived a couple weeks ago. I keep forgetting to start it. My boy, Watson, has a bit of beard and tear staining, so I'll try and remember to start tomorrow.

I will be interested to hear if you also have good results with Proviable. Also if Jackie and Pucks results continue. The groomer mentioned a Maltese had eye staining and the owner only changed to bottled water and it stopped the staining. I can't remember the name, but it from Whole Foods.
