Plain Greek Yogurt

Has anyone tried plain Greek yogurt (1 tablespoon per day) for tear stains? It seems like a more natural approach than giving probiotic supplements.

Well, there is really nothing more "natural" about yogurt than other forms of probiotic bacteria. And my understanding is that the bacteria in yogurt isn't all that effective if people or animals do have tummy problems, because the numbers of bacterai are too small in the volume of food (and the calories involved also) There is certainly nothing wrong with small amounts of plain yogurt (it doesn't need to be greek yogurt) as part of the diet, as long as the dog can tolerate dairy. (Many dogs have problems with it, even if they don't have other tummy troubles)

yeah most yogurt products contain nowhere nearly the amount of probiotic bacteria that are required for a therapeutic effect.
