Wink How much weight is your puppy gaining each month

Today I took Racquet to the vet's to be weighed and he has gained two pounds in a month. He now weighs 13 pounds and will be 5 months old on the 4th of July.
Does anyone has a large havanese and can tell me how much weight they gained each month.
Thanks
Racquet's mom Elayne

my djangos dad was 15-18lbs. he was a big boy! my little guy however is 9lbs. by the way, his dad was an show dog who won many shows sooo, he must have fit the standard havanese role! i have a friend who has a 25lb hav, my pups half brother but she also over feeds him. i think my guy is unusually small. i wouldn't worry, as long as he is healthy! i always ask the vet what he thinks of my guy, is he too skinny and he always says nope, he is perfect. as long as your vet doesn't think he's got a weight problem i wouldn't worry about it.

It probably varies, but from what I can tell reading the threads here on gaining, they do most of their gaining between birth and about 7-8 months..then seem to slow down a tad.

Gucci was about 6 lbs at 5 months. She's almost 6 months now, but has been such a finicky eater and sometimes doesn't even eat all day (even treats!) that I believe she's slowed down growing a bit,.

I think she'll be small, since her parents were both small 8-9 lbs is my guess.

it's funny how all havs. are picky eaters. my guy is so not food driven. i have found that but not putting the food down all day, which is what i use to do and now i only put it down in the am , noon, and evening for 15 minutes. if he is hungry, he will eat if not, i pick it up until the next feeding session. it's more of a pain for me but i have noticed he does eat more. maybe it has to do with him realizing the food won't always be there. it still takes him 30 minutes to eat his 1/4 cup dry food and i still have to put a few pieces on the floor at a time because he won't eat out of the bowl but, what are ya gonna do? they are funny little dogs!

I wish I could remember how much Brady put on each month, but I can't. Brady is a big guy. He is a little over 17 pounds and he is a little over a year. He is not fat, just a bigger havanese. He did put on most of his weight before 8 months old and if I had to guess, he probably put on 2 pounds a month during that 5-7 month growth spurt. Unlike alot of havs, he is a great eater and has never turned a nose at any food.

Brutus is smaller, but he gained about 2#/month until 5 months old and this month he will probably only gain 1 #.

I think they all grow differently---- both my Hav's are larger but had very different growth spurts.

Jasper was 10 llbs at 7 months when he was neutered. He is now 14 1/2. he did a lot of those last 4 1/2 lbs after a year- where he seemed to grow some height and became a squarer dog

Cash was 12 lbs at 4 months --- I was shocked. He was 15 1/2 when he was neutered at 61/2 months and now at almost 8 months he is 16 1/2. I really hope Cash doesn't have a growth spurt after a year like Jas--- I really hope he stays under 20 lbs. Although I would love him to get a little height. He is long and low.

Just weighed them this week...
Kodi, 19 mos. - 10.8 lbs.
Shelby, 8 mos -10.4lbs.

Both have slowed down somewhat, but have continued to put on a couple of ounces each month. I guess the will both be about ll lbs or so at maturity, Shelby maybe a little more.

I have a 7 month old boy who has very large bones. He has gained 2lbs a month, but the last 2 months has tapered off to 1lb per month. He weighs about 11lbs, but looks smaller. He is not long but just off square bodied and almost 9 inches tall.
