amazing moments

hey guys,

I just would like to share a very personal and amazing moment, and wonder if you've had any of these too.....

I often suffer severe migraines.....and Sierra will then want to really sit right on top of me....I'll be lying on the couch crying, she'll be lying on my chest her face on mine....even though not being able to tolerate anything I let her as it does comfort.....

that she notices that I'm in agony when I am there, doesn't really surprise me as dogs can read a lot in to bodylanguage etc....

last weekend though, I woke up as I felt a migraine coming up (4 in the morning).....and right the very moment when it hit me, Sierra was down by the staisr crying that she wanted to come up stairs......she felt it......she really honestly felt it........my partner went downstairs to fetch her....as he also instantly understood why she was crying, and put her on the bed, and all she did was crawl down beside me, head on my chest.....simply comforting me.....it was amazing.....usually when she's allowed on bed, it's playtime first and then sleep.....she just knew it.....
then when the medication started to work, I noticed how she snuck back to the end of the bed by my feet where she usually sleeps if she's allowed up stairs to have a nap......not long after I was gone due to medication, but I sensed her there, which made it easier for me to go through it.....

Very Nice Story. I really liked reading it. Yeah that intuitive thing has always been the things of stories in programs when an animal has helped a person with therapy or they sensed a deep inner sickness and helped to diagnose it sooner than later. It really is an amazing thing...

If you don't mind me asking, you don't suffer from Cluster Headaches do you because they are known to be the worse headaches known and have actually driven people to suicide they are so bad. You often bleed from the ears because of Cluster Headaches, they are that bad.....

I hope you are feeling better.

I don't mind you asking,
I don't think they are cluster headaches as far as I know....I get Imigran pills and nasal spray and they luckily work...I don't know if there is a medication for cluster headaches....
the spooky thing on migraines is that it is a cramp of the brain, a lack of oxygen to the brain and therefor it's a whole body affecting thing....you really feel like dying..... so thank god for the ppl who created Imigran (sumatriptan is the chemical stuff that helps that's in the Imigran)

Yes I've seen those miracle things on telly too, some dogs even sense attacks before they happen.....miraculous!!

Lovely story Suuske- Although I am sorry you suffer from migraines.

Do you think the girls are more nurturing than the boys? --- because my boys could care less if I am in pain. Perhaps it's an age thing- that they become more in tune when they are older.

I was on the couch for the past two days with a painful flare of my crohn's and my boys were no where to be found unless I hobbled up to let them out. Maybe they knew I needed my space- but I sure would have like a furry heating pad. Oh well, they are great in all other ways...

They definitely pick up on your feelings, whether it be moods or just not feeling well.

Sorry about your migraines. I used to get a lot going thru menopause. Now I get them from my sinuses.

Oliver seems to sense it when I'm not feeling well.

I've always thought females were more nurturing than males, it is just in their nature as females and having babies Just like us humans and other species.

However, there always are exceptions to the rule in all species! I have a 15 yo son that is very nurturing too! He's attending a pre-med health science high school academy....he'll make a great doctor!

But my other son.........forget it! He's oblivious to anything that entails *nurturing*! lol

Suuske,

As a fellow migraine sufferer, I totally understand your pain. Up until about 9 mos. ago my migraines were like what you've described. I began using the following program (see link below) and they have become much less severe and much more infrequent. I was desperate and was willing to try anything for relief. I highly recommend it.
