Husband thinks dog likes me more

This is probably a strange post, but here does. Puppy is 7 months old. My husband thinks the dog likes me more than him. This is crazy, but need advice. My husband gets up in the morning, takes him out and feeds him. I do the walking and most of the fun play time. What should I do to help him bond better with the pup? Both of us discipline and train; have both been to puppy class.

I am sorry but this makes me laugh just a little...NOT at your husband's distress, just how those little pups can capture our heart so much that we want them to love us. Last night, Jon came to bed and said that I said in my sleep in my most loving baby voice, "awwww, Mayzie Mae...".

I think the only solution is for you to buy him a Hav of his own.

I spend my days chasing Mayzie 'n planting daisies! What a blessed life!

Any pet will favor one human over another, that's the way it is. My family had a cat, we were in college, and still living at home. My sis and I shared the upstairs, with a jack n jill bathroom. we LOVED that our cat would sleep in our bed. The cat would actually get up at 1am every night, and switch beds.

Anyway, if DH plays more with the pup and maybe gives a highly desired treat, only he gives (e.g. cheese, real chicken) that might help as well.

Tell him to keep bacon in his pocket- he'll be the favorite in no time!

My daughter says I am the favorite here then pouts a little.
I tell her that I give longer training time with treats and also play fetch twice as long , so she needs to keep up!
Since your husband already is training and feeding, if he increases the 1:1 playtime, that may help!

Go out of town without your husband! LOL! We had the same issue until I have had to travel some for work and family reasons. I left Loki home with Marc. Since then he still prefers me but he definitely goes to Marc for lap time more than he used to. Loki is a complete lap dog - he always wants to be in someone's lap.

Sometimes, they just pick a person. My boy, Watson, just ADORES my mother, who is still isn't sure animals are meant to be inside a house. She stays with me in the winter, and I simply don't exist for him when she's around. I've found him sleeping, stretched out, belly pressed against her bedroom door, more than once when she's in there. She's never fed or walked him, but he will follow her around gazing up adoringly, softly wagging his tail. Lola growled at her last year when she was down, so I'm hoping things go better when she shows in a week or so.

Scout and Truffles are totally in love with my DH. You would think the world was ending when he arrives home from work. Before he arrives they are both at the door to the garage sniffing. I don't know how they seem to know what time it is. When the garage door goes up they both grab a toy and start running around. Truffles starts whimpering and howling. They both attack him when the door opens. When I come home from work they come to the door and jump, but theres no craziness. My husband takes them for walks at the park in the morning and evening. He also takes them everywhere he goes. I work and night and sleep during the day. They are probably thinking "playtime" when he come home. When they see me they thinking,"oh no...she holding the comb." 😊
