Loki is mischievous

I got a call at work this morning from the dog walker telling me that Loki was on the kitchen counter when she got there. It appears he had jumped from the sofa arm to the counter. He was too afraid to get down so he was just sitting there. Problem us that he had gotten the lid off the ALEVE bottle. They were all over the counter but it is unclear if he actually ate any. I called the vet, they said since we didn't know if he ate any at his size we needed to treat it aggressively. I took him in, they made him throw up, and they are now giving him intravaneous fluids to flush his kidneys. Ugh! But better safe than sorry!

Picture from the dog walker of Loki on the counter, and the space he jumped.

Oh Loki!!!! Who would have ever thought he could get up there. It would be kind of funny if he hadn't gotten into the Alleve. Thank goodness he is OK very scary. Also good you have a walker who discovered it so you could take care of it earlier and not have to wait til you got home! Good boy though to not jump off on his own. He is SO darn cute sitting there looking all innocent! Let us know when your boy is home and fine. <3

Oh boy! I hope Loki is ok. It sounds like you got him to the vet quickly so that is good. I also came home once to find my Bichon sitting on the kitchen table. She couldn't figure out how to get back down either! Molly does not get the run of house when I go out. I can just imagine the mischief she might get into.

I sure hope Loki is okay. I am going to show this to my hubby who thinks I am mean for crating his baby at night. Who would have guessed he could jump all that way! Thank you for sharing. Please update us on Loki when you can.

I agree I could never leave Sophie loose at home at this point. There would be no home left to come home to!

Loki just gets the open kitchen/family room. I thought I had it puppy proofed. I never imagined he would jump from the couch to the counter. He only started jumping on the couch a couple of weeks ago. He has his beds, a pee pad, a zillion toys in the toy box, and the dog walker comes at 11 and 2. I leave at 9 and Marc comes home between 4:30 and 5 so he isn't alone for more than 3 hours at a time. He has been in the kitchen/family room since the beginning on November, I can't imagine going back to crating him during the day but I do have to make sure he can't jump on the counter.

I hope Loki Is okay! Several months ago I thought I had lost an Aleve but couldn't find it, was afraid Tucker had swallowed it. It was horrible! I gave him hydrogen peroxide at home to make him throw up, rushed him to the vets where they gave him charcoal and some other medicine after making him throw up more.

They told me I'd know the next day whether his kidneys were damaged. It was horrendous!

About an hour after I got him home I found the missing Aleve on the dining room table, it had rolled under a paper.

Whew!!! I now stand at the kitchen sink to take my meds.

Oh no Loki! I hope vall is well soon! Our Leo likes to get up on our dining table. We have to be really careful not to leave anything there.

He's home now for the night. They want to give him more IV fluids tomorrow, so he has a cone so he won't pull out his catheter. I moved all the meds upstairs to my bathroom. He never goes in there. Also, moved the couch down so he can't get to the counter.
